Have you ever had times when it just seemed as though you were grinding away at your purpose, but still you didn’t feel as though you were making progress? Do you know that it is not how quickly we make progress but rather the progress we’ve made that counts……….
This year has been a huge stretch for me in so many ways. I’ve had to learn how to hold on for the ride, rather than try to drive everything myself! Maybe that sounds foreign to you, and just a heads up, from someone who has had to learn to do it, it feels foreign as well. However, I am a Christian Author, and in order for me to fulfill my purpose of what my Father wanted to do with my books, I had to have a change of mind! Because I have, it is amazing what I have accomplished through Him. I give God all glory for the great things He has done!
Up until this past year, I thought I was to write and publish books as I already had 5 books published. Which I am to do, however, God wanted me to think bigger and higher and let Him out of the little box that my thinking kept Him in! Sometimes, God will use other people to help you to think differently, which is what happened to me. This is why I am writing to you. Maybe again like me you are grinding away at your purpose, however you know there is more that the Lord wants to do with it. You just do not understand it all. May I suggest, just ask Him to be the driver of your purpose. Simply hold on for the ride! So if He created you and I, and placed within us our purpose, then it is logically sound thinking to simply let Him drive it where He wants to take it and you and I simply obey when He shows us what to do, right?
This is a true testimony of God’s ability to help me when I had finally had the mind shift that I wasn’t the creator of my purpose, God was. ALL of the following happened within a year because I simply got into position and co-labored with God, to do my purpose. I am blown away at the progress I’ve made in just one year. On August 15, 2016, I published a book entitled 5 Steps to Birthing Your Dream a Spiritual Midwife’s Manual! That book went #1 on Amazon’s Bestselling List. Because God had divinely set me up and taught me how to do it! I got in line with what God had for me and just simply done one thing at a time that He walked me through. This is not to brag on myself or pat myself on the back, but again to simply give Glory to God! In the past year I’ve had 2 of my published books to go #1 Bestselling, I’ve created a complete Steps to Birthing Your Dream Video Program, I really took on the role of being a Spiritual Midwife to others to help them birth their dreams and purpose by doing a Private Membership Group Coaching. I will launch another brand new book 7 Keys to Put Your Life in Drive by the end of this month if all goes well, and have already created the videos for a new Video Program with this new book. I have done Webinars, Facebook Live, Conference Calls and helped others to become #1 Bestselling Authors! God is amazing when you simply hold on for the ride! He is why I’ve made huge strides in my purpose all of this has come to fruition this year. It has been such a joyous and adventurous ride, and I want to encourage you! Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
This life changing story may sound like a fairytale because of the of times we are now living in. When I was young, speaking of God was a common practice and something that was reverenced. However, now many people think that to be a Christian is just a person following a bunch of religious rites. Don’t get me wrong there are many “religious people “in the world and I say that not to put them down, but rather to say I have experienced something far better than a religion. I’ve experience the person Jesus Christ who hates religion. I have discovered a real and living God who adores me and loves me with a passion. He is a living and life changing God.
You may be asking, “How can you say that for sure?” My answer to you is experience. For instance people can say to you, “Try this piece of delicious cake,” but until you actually taste the cake you do not know whether it is delicious or not, right?” It is the same way with a true and loving God, if you only go by what people tell you about him or what you believe to be true without actually tasting to see if He is good yourself, how will you know if He is truly good? Below is just one of the earliest memories and true stories of my life changing experiences with a Living and Loving God. This was not the religious God that people talk about and try to exploit to justify their actions of manipulation and control of other people. No this was a real encounter and experience that I had as an innocent little child whose life was radically changed by a real God who came to heal our family.
Once upon a time when I was a little girl around four-years-old, barely old enough to climb into a church pew, my parents took my sisters and me to a little country church. Even though as a child I never understood all of what I was experiencing or all of who I was experiencing I would feel the wonderful presence of God that sent chills all through me. I would hear beautiful songs that were uplifting and praised God. When His Presence would come, I felt peaceful and hopeful that all things were going to be good. I would watch my Mom and Dad, as tears streamed down their faces. I never understood why they were tearful, but again I never felt alarm as though I needed to be upset. The Presence of God comforted me. I somehow knew that it was a good thing that was happening. I saw my family one by one dedicate their lives to the Lord, especially my oldest sisters and I can remember them getting baptized as the church family gathered on the banks of a nearby creek. So what did that experience of that Presence do for us?
I believe the greatest experience and evidence of God’s real goodness to us, was when my Dad was radically changed. He used to party and drink with his friends and other members of his family, while he left my Mom and Six girls home waiting on him. When he would finally come stumbling through the door, I remember how the whole atmosphere of our home would change. He would be angry because we would be watching a T.V. show called “The Monkees.” I remember how he would rage when he came in until we scrambled to turn it off, his reasoning was because they were “Longhaired hippies!” However, once my Dad experienced God’s Presence, he was never that same man, instead he became another man altogether. He never touched alcohol again. He would say that God touched him and that he never missed it or desired so much as a drop of alcohol because God’s presence was enough to satisfy him. He knew how to humble himself before an almighty God but a loving Father to receive what he needed in life. He was full of joy and laughed and teased with us. He was a new Daddy. I remember that sometimes we would be at the church late, and my Daddy gently carrying me to the car, and then into our home. This image of my natural Dad and my experience has helped me to experience a Loving Heavenly Father in such a personal way.
My Daddy from that point on was the strongest man I knew. He protected us, loved us, took care of us and all of his grandchildren throughout the years, and never treated anyone differently than what he wanted to be treated. Was he perfect, not at all, but He was humble and could be corrected when he needed to be. He could plainly see faults in people, but like his own life, he knew that God’s grace was available to help them. He was real, and not religious. What you seen was what you got. I realize that in the world we now live in, we have so many fatherless children who have never experienced a real loving Dad, so because of that, it is difficult for them to trust in a Heavenly Father. Many also have had painful experiences because of their absent Dads and so again, to relate to a Loving Father is foreign to them. The point of this blog is the same point I wanted to make earlier concerning that delicious cake, if you never taste of the Lord, how will you know if He is good or not? I hope that you will take my word, as someone who has tasted of the goodness of the Lord and has experienced Him as being a Good, Good Daddy, taste for yourself.
Romans 10:8-11 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

Do not Despise Small Beginnings!
Do you know that no matter what you want in life, great strides toward having your desires simply begin with the first small step? I often encourage dreamers to step out and go for their dreams, but as I encourage you my friends, I also give myself the same pep talk! In my own life I have felt as though there were many times I waited or hesitated to make the small steps of faith it took for me to do what was in my heart. I often felt because I had hesitated that certain dreams would not come true. Can you relate? What a lie from the enemy! True, It may take me longer to accomplish certain dreams because of my hesitancy, but the dreams are still alive and waiting! What I have found, even in my times of hesitancy is that God is always ordering my steps! I can truly delight in my way!
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.” – Zechariah 4:10 NLT
Have I arrived? My answer is a resounding NO! I am not where I want to be yet, but most importantly, is that GOD is not through with me yet either! I have many dreams yet to be fulfilled that are way too “BIG” for me. However, it amazes me that now I can see the importance of so many of the small, seemingly “insignificant” steps that I have had to take and will continue to take every day! Yes I said every day. I have determined to take a few small steps toward my dreams every single day. This blog is an example. For instance I am a published author, but I want to be an author who really encourages others. I start out each week preparing my blogs, which may seem like a small thing to some, but to me it gives me experience and discipline, but more importantly when I finish a blog, I feel as though I have made a great stride toward my dreams!

I sit here today having gained several years of valuable experience, yes even a little wisdom and knowledge along the way as to how to accomplish a few small steps toward my “Big” dreams. I am not being boastful, however, because the more I learn, the more I realize I have so much more still to learn! Experience has been an excellent teacher. When I first began trying to take small steps, I would go by a lot of trial and error as to what worked for me and what didn’t. I am sure I had way more errors than victories. Eventually I was able to realize what worked for me in some things, but still am testing things in others. One bit of wisdom I think I can pass along is what works for others may or may not necessarily work for you even if you do it the exact same way! I love to read other success stories as to how this famous person did this thing or that. I can use their experiences as a model, but my walk or dream is still different from theirs, so I still have to forge my own way. However, I think what has helped me when I read about other successful people and how they have become successful is that I can avoid certain missteps if I use their experiences.
In closing this post today, the number one thing I must stress is that we certainly want to have our “Big” dreams, but the most important “Big” step is to enjoy the journey. Enjoy what is present and now! Realize that even though the steps may seem small, that they are really the big steps that are teaching you how to live the rest of your life. I love the following quote:

It is vital to my happiness and fulfillment to realize how that the Lord has blessed me right now, this very day. Yes, I can look back to where I started, and even look forward to where I want to go, but to me the most important thing is that my joy is not based on what I will be or who I was, but rather who I am. I want to be grateful for what the Lord has blessed me with right now! At the end of my journey when I have accomplished all that I was supposed to on this earth, I want to know that everything small or great that the Lord did for me, gave to me, helped me to do etc., will indeed add up to the “Big” thing that He purposed my life for!
