Slow and Steady Wins the Race!

Have you ever just had a week of being busy but it seems like nothing is getting done?  Face it, life happens!  Sometimes our great plans of what we were going to do for the week, year, or even our life changes.  The key is to be willing to roll with the changes!  Yep, that has been my life recently, but yet when I look back I can see that I’ve accomplished much more than I thought I had.   I’ve actually made some huge strides toward some goals that I’ve been trying to meet this year!

It may sound wonderful to go through life without any bumps in the road, but I believe it would also be very boring!  I have found that when the bumps of life happen, that I can use them to my advantage. They can show me a true picture of what I am made of. Sometimes they detour me to another pathway that was good for me.    I admit there have been some huge bumps at times, so huge in fact; I really never thought that I would make it over them. However, God’s grace is always sufficient for me!

2 Corinthians 9:8  (KJV) And GOD is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

This week’s blog is not to brag on how much I’ve gotten done, but rather I want to encourage you to see how much you are getting accomplished! Take time to realize that God is co-laboring with you by making all grace about toward you!  I want to encourage you… don’t give up on your goals or dreams, but press in even when it seems that nothing you do is accomplishing much.  It was the Tortoise that won the race, not the Hare.  Slow and steady wins the race! If you haven’t quit, then you are still in the race, the prize is up ahead!  Keep contending! Life is a marathon, not a sprint! Can you see that you too have made great strides even though you may feel as though you are taking baby steps toward your dreams!

I cheer you on my friend!  I would love to hear about your successes….

Remaining in the Vine!

Remaining in the Vine!

Accomplishing a goal is always reason to celebrate, but what happens when it seems that you’re partying alone?  I feel as though I have been there many times.  I accomplish a long time goal that I’ve worked on for a year or so only to have people say, “That’s great.”

What did I really expect?  Did I expect others to be so thrilled for me that they throw their hands up in the air and shout Halleluiah!  Don’t get me wrong, I actually have friends that would say those words, but when it really comes down to it, it is not even the way I feel about it myself that counts!  I have discovered a key in my life!  When “the rubber meets the road,” what really counts is that I’ve pleased the Lord!  If I’ve pleased God then I will be satisfied myself. I have discovered that I can do nothing in myself!  All gifting and talent comes from the Lord.  He has enabled me to do what I do, so that I can accomplish what He has planned for my life.

John 15: 4 (KJV) Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

My desire is to do what I was created to do!  When I remain in Him, He helps me to accomplish my desires!  When I accomplish a long time goal that I’ve longed to do, I actually do have a party!  I have someone who does rejoice with me and over my accomplishments! He celebrates over every one of my victories!

Let me encourage you, to remain in the vine!  Let Him co-labor with you to bring your desires to pass, it gives Him great pleasure! When it seems that no one is around to rejoice with you, know that all of Heaven is celebrating with you!

I’m Dreaming with GOD are you?

“Inspiring One Dreamer at a Time!”

Secret Getaway 027

Dreaming with GOD may sound like a wild notion for some of you, for others it makes perfect sense. Dreaming with GOD is really just seeing yourself as GOD sees you. Dreaming with GOD also means that you have what GOD wants you to have in order to become all that He has called you to be. Why? The answer is so that only GOD can get glory out of your life and your life’s purpose will be fulfilled the way that GOD planned for you.

The dreams that the Lord has given me personally are things that I cannot fulfill without him! He wants to co-labor with me to fulfill his purposes in my life.   Dreams fulfilled by GOD only come by faith…All of what the Father has for me can only be obtained by faith in what Jesus has made available to me.

Many of us have dared to dream and have never seen them come to pass. We ended up heartbroken and so we gave up.  Let me encourage you start again!   Press in and believe God to help you!

Proverbs 13:12 (KJV) Hope deferred maketh the heart-sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.

The Bible also states that when a desire is fulfilled that it is sweet to the soul! It gives our Father great pleasure to give His Kingdom to His children…Won’t you begin dreaming with GOD today and let him cause your dreams to become reality!

Dreaming with GOD is not some mystical thing, it is simply thinking and meditating upon what he has done for us and what he says is ours now that we have come into a heavenly kingdom. Jesus taught his desciples to pray the following:

Matthew 6:5 (KJV)  And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Where? On earth as it is in heaven.. What is available in heaven?   Everything that we could possibly imagine or hope for is in heaven right?  When do we partake of it?  NOW!

He has made it available to us through Jesus’death and resurrection, we are not orphans who have nothing. NO, we are Kings Kids and we have a Kingdom that we can access by faith…! How exciting to know that according to the word of GOD the limits are off!

Mark 11:23 (KJV) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

What limits us from receiving what the Father has for us more than anything,  I believe,  is how we see ourselves.  So many times we see ourselves in the light of how we grew up, and in the light of what others said we were!  Unfortunately, our images of ourselves many times are distorted.  When the Lord begins to show us a different image on the inside we have a difficult time seeing past what others told us that we were.  I am in no way blaming people in my life for what I’ve become because everyone does the best that they know to do!  My point is simply that once I find out from the scripture how the Lord sees me than I want to be like that!  I want to be all He says that I am!

Jeremiah 29:11 I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I love this scripture because it shows us that the Lord already has a wonderful plan for our lives, so what are we waiting for? The scripture also says he does exceedingly, abundantly, more than we can ask or think. Have you ever just thought or imagined how much that is…if you have then you are Dreaming with GOD!

I wanted to encourage you that it’s never too late!  You are never too old to dream.  If you have dreamed a dream and it did not come when or how you thought it should have, dream again.  Don’t quit until you see your desires come!  Get up and walk toward that thing whatever it may be, just don’t quit!
