Don’t you just wish sometimes that you could just stop everything and do the thing you love to do?  Well for brief periods of time, I’ve been able to get the old creative juices flowing and try some new painting techniques and new subjects that I normally would never have tried!  Love the time spent on the following pieces as they represent lessons learned from each painting!

painted canvases, I have painted all of these paintings this week! …Gotta get out of my comfortable place in order to grow as an Artist, but even more

importantly being stretched  to grow as a person!

Homemade with Vinegar 002

DISCLAIMER< THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD< I AM MAKING NO PROMISES< AM NOT PAID TO SELL PRODUCTS OR ANYTHING ELSE, THIS IS MEANT ONLY TO GIVE OPTION AND IS MERELY A RECCOMMENDATION BASED ON WHAT I LIKE!

Yay, So very Simple and Absolutely Wonderful!

  1. Recipe for Homemade Fabric Softner Using Essential Oils sorta of all Natural which I like!

Pour White Distilled Vinegar in an empty 2 liter bottle

Add  as much Pure Essential Oils as you wish of any scent that you wish.

I actually added about 5 drops of pure Essential Lavendar Oil which scented it more than enough

for our family.

I then shook it up to evenly mix it.

Pour 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup into each load on the rinse cycle…

Your clothes will come out feeling so soft and will be static free!

The Natural recipe  works wonderfully by itself, however there is another option!

depending on how organic or natural  you want to go!

Homemade with Vinegar 001 Conditioner

2. Recipe for Fabric Softner using White Vinegar and Hair Conditioner

The first time I even made Homemade Fabric Softener using White Vinegar this was the recipe I used!

6 cups white vinegar

1 bottle of hair conditioner, whatever fragrance you love

4 cups of water

Mix all the ingredients together, again I use a recycled 2 liter bottle and shake before each use.

I use approximately 1/2 cup in rinse cycle  and clothes smell great and are soft. The conditioner

will settle to the bottom or float to the top, so the fabric softener has to be shaken with each use.

Feeling Like Mrs. Suzy Homemaker lately!  Had been getting on Pinterest and found all these recipes for homemade laundry detergents, fabric softener, soaps, dishwasher detergent….Had to try them and honestly I love them!   Especially the detergents and the fabric softener!

Recipe for Laundry Detergent

1 bar of Fels-Neptha Soap

I cup 20 Mule Team Borax

1 cup Arm & Hammer Baking Washing Soap

1 5 gallon Bucket with Lid!

Shred Soap with a grater, I used a cheese grater it did a wonderful job….  Put grated soap in a pot of about 6 cups of water and melt.  Do not let it boil.  The whole process took be about 10 minutes to grate and to melt.   Fill your 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water.  After soap is melted pour into the 5 gallon bucket with the water and stir!  Add I cup each of the Borax and the Arm & Hammer baking washing soap and stir again.  Fill the remainder of the bucket up with hot water and stir again.  Place lid on detergent and leave for 24 hours!  The solution will gel up and is almost like a Jello consistency.  After it gels, you can either fill all your containers or do one as you need them which was what I opted for as I do not have the space to store 10 gallon of detergent which is what this recipe makes!   When filling your containers, fill half with the detergent solution and the other half with water!  Thus it doubles the 5 gallon of solution you made Yay!  Important to note…You will need to shake your detergent before actual use as the solution tends to settle, but mixes well when shook.. Add about 1/2 cup to your washer and wash away…For my white clothes I’ve added a little more because I have 2 boys that love to go without shoes outside in their bare feet!

Such a money saver and smells so wonderful! I had less than $10 in the bar of soap and 1 box each of the Borax and Arm& Hammer Laundry Boosters.

My other favorites are the Fabric softener with Essential oils  and the Dishwasher Recipes, but will have to post them later, as I have  2 starving BOYS staring me down waiting for their lunch!

Update as of March 5, 2014:  I am so pleased to announce that after using homemade detergent for 1 year now…That I still love it more today then when I made it the first time!  One batch of this lasted me around 8 months!  What a bargain!  I have shared this recipe over and over again with many of my friends!
