Don’t you just wish sometimes that you could just stop everything and do the thing you love to do? Well for brief periods of time, I’ve been able to get the old creative juices flowing and try some new painting techniques and new subjects that I normally would never have tried! Love the time spent on the following pieces as they represent lessons learned from each painting!
Can Anybody Relate?
1 MayThere’s nothing like being able to do what you love!
I’m learning to do different kinds of Paintings with different painting techniques. I am stretching myself like one of these
painted canvases, I have painted all of these paintings this week! …Gotta get out of my comfortable place in order to grow as an Artist, but even more
importantly being stretched to grow as a person!

Suzy Homemakers At it Again! My Recipes for Homemade Fabric Softner!
15 Apr
DISCLAIMER< THIS IS WHAT WORKS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD< I AM MAKING NO PROMISES< AM NOT PAID TO SELL PRODUCTS OR ANYTHING ELSE, THIS IS MEANT ONLY TO GIVE OPTION AND IS MERELY A RECCOMMENDATION BASED ON WHAT I LIKE!
Yay, So very Simple and Absolutely Wonderful!
- Recipe for Homemade Fabric Softner Using Essential Oils sorta of all Natural which I like!
Pour White Distilled Vinegar in an empty 2 liter bottle
Add as much Pure Essential Oils as you wish of any scent that you wish.
I actually added about 5 drops of pure Essential Lavendar Oil which scented it more than enough
for our family.
I then shook it up to evenly mix it.
Pour 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup into each load on the rinse cycle…
Your clothes will come out feeling so soft and will be static free!
The Natural recipe works wonderfully by itself, however there is another option!
depending on how organic or natural you want to go!
2. Recipe for Fabric Softner using White Vinegar and Hair Conditioner
The first time I even made Homemade Fabric Softener using White Vinegar this was the recipe I used!
6 cups white vinegar
1 bottle of hair conditioner, whatever fragrance you love
4 cups of water
Mix all the ingredients together, again I use a recycled 2 liter bottle and shake before each use.
I use approximately 1/2 cup in rinse cycle and clothes smell great and are soft. The conditioner
will settle to the bottom or float to the top, so the fabric softener has to be shaken with each use.

Yay! Feeling like I’ve Got Somethings Accomplished!
5 AprHello All, It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged so I missed really taking the time and doing it! I have been a little busy bee lately and it is wonderful but takes me away from my blog at times.
This is my “Something” that I’ve gotten accomplished!
I have had my latest Adult Ficion book, Tell the Enemy to Scat on an Ebook since July 2012, but I wanted to do a paperback version to take do booksignings with ! Which by the way I have a huge event coming up On April 13th as per the following: Everyone is Invited!
Neva Lomason Library Book Festival will be hosting local Author Christine Gilliam Hornback along with 30 plus other authors as she speaks and signs her Juvenile Fiction books entitled Jenny Lynn’s Secret Mission and Caleb’s Cereal. Christine will have her new book entitled Tell the Enemy to Scat as well! Come out and support local Authors and your local Library. 710 Rome Street Carrollton, Ga 30117, ph (770)836-6711
I also was able to finish all the edits on my Audio book from my latest Juvenile Fiction Caleb’s Cereal! Below is a sample of the audio from Amazon.com which I thought was so COOOOL!
Finally I’ve been teaching painting lessons to a couple groups of children and adults. I’ve been doing a Sip-N-Stroke painting class usually the 2nd Saturday of each month. I also teach at the GMKS and Beyond Arts Center in Douglasville, Ga every Thursday, and then at a homeschool group on Monday’s so Yay!
My normal days of course include taking care of my husband of 32 years, and raising 2 boys ages 12 and 8 and getting them homeschooled. Have you ever tried to feed two growing boys?????It is a full time job, believe me! I love my life, GOD is so very good to me and my family….Looking forward to walking through some long awatied doors that he has just recently been opening! So Yay! Today is my celebration of getting somethings accomplished!

Peace is my Compass!
19 FebI just love it when my life seems to be moving in the direction that I have hoped that it would. For many years I have been doing things, such as being a wife, a mother, homemaker, raising children, homeschooling those children, painting, teaching students how to paint, writing, publishing books, involving myself in ministry, blah blah and the list does go on and on. I felt with all my heart the Lord had spoken in my spirit to do all these things, however many times it seemed I couldn’t see the fruit of any of it right away! What did I do then? Well like most people, I would question the Lord to see if I missed him, and when I was sure I didn’t I continued doing what I felt in my heart I should be doing. “Just keep on keepin on baby, just keep on keepin on!”
Eventually I began seeing some fruit. My husband and I have built a life of 32 years, My children are growing up to be fine young men who love the Lord, what else could I ask for! I am hardly a famous artist but I have sold several paintings, nor am I a famous Author, but I have three books published with many more on the way. I was in Women’s Ministry for many years and I have seen many of their lives transformed by the power of GOD. I have not seen all the fruit that I’ve sowed my life into to produce, but I am still moving in a perfect destined direction laid out for me by Father GOD , so I am convinced I am just getting started and that I will get to see all of it! The Lord tells us that if we leave things behind to follow him and his plan for our lives that we will see great successes in this life and not only in our lives on earth, but our lives to come in Heaven! That record of course will tell the true story of what we spent our lives on!
Right now, I am sort of racing in different directions because I’ve been so busy, but the main thing I have to guard against is just getting into doing things, without having a clear direction or goal as to why I am doing them. Face it we all can busy ourselves, but that doesn’t mean that we are doing what we should be doing in the Lord to get us where we need to be. More times than not we are busy because we have not mastered the art of saying “NO!” Although the Lord opens many doors, we have to know that the enemy will shove us through some doors as well if we do not again master the Art of saying “No, I cannot do that or No, I do not believe I am to get involved with that!” I’ve alway been one that if I took on something, I would beat it absolutely to death before I gave up on it! The proverbial beat the dead horse syndrome…I had it and honestly may still have traces of it in my system, so I have to be very tuned in to the Lord to make for sure I am hearing him and following his direction.
Peace is always my compass! If I feel like I am being driven instead of lead I will not have peace, but instead, I will find myself short-tempered and very impatient not only with myself but with others. I have to stop what I am doing and run back into the Lord’s presence and wait until I get clear direction. When I am in the center of the Lord’s will I will always have peace. However, that is not to say that I may not feel a little overwhelmed with what I have to do. I can do nothing without him so when he co-labors with me to accomplish what he desires for me to accomplish, I can do it! I have been in such a place of peace that even though I had much labor to put in, it never seemed like work or labor at all! It was just perfect peace and joy to do those things!
The Scripture tells us to labor to enter into His rest! Our labor is not to do everything by the sweat of our brawl, but instead to get into our prayer closets often, alone with him and be still enough, long enough to hear his still small voice direct us. Stay until you have a clear direction and peace like a rudder to steer your boat in the direction that he is blowing you in! Let God’s peace that surpasses all understanding be your compass! It is a wonderful gift to have and if we will let “her( perfect peace) do her perfect work, then you will receive the promise! Bless you, may the GOD of all peace be with you and co-labor with you to receive all of his great promises!
