Part 17 If Oak Trees Could Talk

Welcome back to If Oak Trees Could Talk ! I hope that up to this point that you’ve been following along either by reading or listening each week. I say this because the past two weeks I have been sharing Chapter 9 entitled Pursuit of Love. This particular chapter depicts some pretty private details of an intimate relationship between a husband and a wife, but the whole point of this chapter is strictly written in context of the rest of the book. I am in no way ashamed of this chapter, however, I plead with those of you that may have just began reading along or listening to realize that If Oak Trees Could Talk is not just another steamy romance novel about sex in any way! If Oak Trees Could Talk is truly the story of a couple that has a full and satisfying life because of their choice to pursue and abandon themselves fully to unconditional love!

Disclaimer:

I feel that this book is truly an Inspirational love story, however, in some of the following content, I wanted to state that for young readers or listeners the content is not appropriate or may be rated PG.

“Baby, Baby,” Robert once again whispered, “as much as I am enjoying this, I would like to know what this is all about exactly?” He held Amelia’s face in his gentle hands and gingerly caressed her hair. His eyes met hers as her eyes were filled with tears. He once again questioned if he had upset her.

As Amelia, swallowed hard the lump in her throat, she cleared her throat and told Robert about what her mother had advised. She asked, “Robert have you really noticed how my parent’s truly love one another with everything that they have within them?”

Robert answered, “Yes, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen anyone that cared about each other like your parent’s do. Not even my own parents!”

“Do you know how my mother told me that they kept that kind of passion for each other throughout all of the years?” Amelia asked not really expecting an answer.

Robert still gazing into Amelia’s beautiful blue eyes, simply listened.

“She told me that the main thing they both have done was to always put each other first. Momma said, “it is truly that simple, but not always that easy!” Amelia continued. “I went into the Glenview Residential Home for the Elderly, mind you, and do you know what I found? I found this breathtakingly beautiful woman which is my little sweet mother simply glowing! Do you know what she told me when I asked her about why she looked like she was glowing?”

Robert nodded as he had no clue.

“At first she told me that I could not handle the real truth about why she was glowing. As I convinced her that I was an adult, she proceeded to tell me that she and my little Daddy had made love, not just love mind you, but, she said “passionate love” the entire night long! I had to admit that I was totally embarrassed and became so flushed that I never knew what to say to her! But she had plenty to say to me. She told me to go home and to love you passionately. I do love you with my whole heart, but have I ever loved you with that kind of passion before? I am determined that I want to Robert. I want us to be free to love like that without embarrassment. We once had a passion, but somehow through the years we have let something slip away. I want what we once had. I want to model that kind of love for our boys, so that when they find wives, they will know how to love them? Do you think I am crazy?”

Robert lay quietly as Amelia poured out her heart, her thoughts, and questions so openly to him. He watched her eyes dance as she spoke of her parents and noticed that she smiled so tenderly when she told him how much she loved him and wanted him to love her passionately as well.

Robert cleared his throat as well and took Amelia’s face again in his gentle hands.

“I want us to trust each other enough to love like that! I know that I have taken you for granted, but Amelia, my breath catches in my chest every time I see your beautiful face. I feel like a giddy teenager whose mouth feels like it is full of cotton when it comes to talking to you and really expressing my heart. I never want to hold anything back, but sometimes I am unsure of myself. I do not always know how to put in action the way I feel inside. Your Daddy is a hard man to live up to! I love you with everything that is in me. I would be as lost as your Daddy is right now if you ever left me. I need you to show me how to love you, because honestly Babe, I do not want to assume I know. I know that my heart is full and I could never imagine living without you. You are my passion, my desire. I am a better man because of you. You are what my dreams have always been! I am one blessed man! The day that I knocked you down at the airport was the day that I was absolutely knocked over myself. I just couldn’t believe how beautiful you were! I was and am still blown away when I look into your eyes.”

It was as if the flood gates had opened up and all of the emotions that both Amelia and Robert had already shared along with those that they still had in their hearts come gushing out! They hungrily lavished each other with gentle caresses and tender kisses as they moved together in unison to become one flesh. Robert and Amelia lay in awe struck silence while still tightly holding each other, both were breathless, never experiencing love on this level before, until finally Amelia broke the silence

“Yahoo! Thank you Momma! I loved your wonderful motherly advice!”

Robert chuckled and teasingly said, “Amelia, the next time you go to see your mom, please ask her if she has any more advice for her Daughter and favorite Son-and-law? Tell her we will try to follow it to the tee!”

As the couple continued embracing one another, they talked and laughed until several hours had passed. They needed to go and pick up the boys. Both knew in their hearts, however, that from this day forward, although it may not be easy, that they would make every effort to put the other one first and live their lives passionately pursuing love.

We continue to read in Chapter 9!

Chapter 9

Pursuit of Love

“Well, if you are sure you want to know I will tell you, your Daddy and I made love all night long last night. We felt like the life that had been stolen from us was restored by our passion for each other last night. Nurse Wanda, actually had to wake us up this morning, we were sleeping so soundly!” Helen said with absolutely no shame or guilt. She let out a chuckle, that soon turned into laughter as she seen the look on Amelia’s face.

“Momma!” Amelia gasped as she was totally surprised at her Momma’s candidness.

“Well, my Dear Daughter, you said that you could handle it! That blush on your cheeks really says you lied! I am going to give you some free advice Amelia. Go home, love your husband passionately! Love him like you’ve never loved him before, love him like it could be your last time.   Surprise him with your willingness to be passionate for him. You will find the greatest response will be what you have found in your Daddy’s and my relationship. It’s called a passion for life! Go, get out of here! Go make wild passionate love to your husband!”

“Well, Mother….I’ve never….

“And that is the reason you doubt your love for your own husband, go and do it! Just go and have what you see you want out of life. If we’ve taught you nothing else in life, Daughter, it is to grab every moment as if it were your last! Live in passionate pursuit of love and embrace it, for love is the greatest treasure that you will ever find upon this earth. If you love with a passion, Daughter, no greater joy will you find with Robert, now what are you waiting for? Get on out of here like I told you to do! Go find love!”

“But Momma, I can’t just leave! I just got here!” Amelia stammered.

“I told you to go…., now get! Your Daddy and I are better than we’ve been in a long time, so get on out of here! Go do what I told you to do now! Are you going to disobey me?” Helen asked rather sternly.

Amelia shook her head no. She embraced her mother and smiled a smile that was a combination of both Henry’s and Helen’s. She felt nervous inside, but couldn’t wait to act on what her Mother had advised her. She longed for the life full of passion that she knew existed for her. Today her Momma gave her permission to go after it whole heartedly without shame. She ran down the hall to the elevator and quickly out the Glenview Home’s doors to her car. She sped through the lights and stop signs to get to her home as she prepared emotionally to be the most passionate version of herself. Her boys had baseball practices and then pizza, so Amelia knew that she and her husband would not be interrupted for several hours. Thoughts ran wildly through her mind as she considered how Robert might react to her behavior.

“Oh I feel so foolish and silly, why does this seem so difficult for me?” Amelia mumbled to herself. “My Lord, I’ve been married to the man for Eleven years, it’s not like we’ve never made love before?” She continued to give herself a pep talk.

Amelia’s face burned and became flush. She already felt embarrassed even before acting upon what her mother advised her to do. However, she knew that she longed to come out of her shell and be who she knew she was inside. She never wanted to live like other couples that she knew, just the status quo and settle for a life void of excitement and passion. No, Amelia determined in herself that from this point on, there would be no turning back.   She was going to have the kind of marriage and relationship with her husband as close to the love that her parent’s had modeled for her throughout her entire life.

When Amelia’s husband pulled in the driveway, Amelia heard the garage door open and shut as Robert pulled his car in. She heard his footsteps coming up the stairs and a tune of a song that he was singing ever so softly. He was a very handsome man and so sweet. Amelia was envied because Robert was the kind of man that would definitely make a woman swoon. What caught Amelia’s attention however was the little cleft dimple on his chin and an even bigger dimple that seemed to seal every smile. It reminded her of her Daddy’s mischievousness little grins and so she was attracted to him right away.

When the door to the stairs finally opened and Robert stepped in, his dimpled smile caught Amelia’s eye and she gently embraced him. She lingered in his embrace and asked him if she could have a serious conversation with him. She took his hand and led him to their bedroom and shut and locked the door.

“Did I do something wrong?” Robert asked.

“No, I have just left my parent’s and Robert I am taking my mother’s advice!” Amelia whispered as she began unbuttoning Robert’s shirt.

“Well, okay….” Robert whispered back, as he was surprised at Amelia’s behavior.

Amelia, found Robert’s lips and kissed him hard and passionately. He responded back to her, but with slower actions as he wasn’t for sure what Amelia’s mother had advised her. The kisses became more passionate as Amelia walked Robert backward to their bed and gently pushed him until he was lying down. She followed him as her body pressed tenderly onto his. Amelia thought to herself, we have a great love and passion for each other, we just do not express it freely. She became even more determined that she was not going to hold anything back from Robert, but was going to trust love and abandoned herself to it.

This week we will finish up Chapter 8 Love Has No Age and continue to read about half of Chapter 9 Pursuit of Love!

Chapter 8

Love Has No Age

“Nurse Wanda, may I see you out in the hall for just a second?” Helen asked very quietly and discretely.

Nurse Wanda followed Helen out into the hallway as she caught the subtle way that Helen had gotten her attention.

“As you may or may not know, the doctors are talking about possibly releasing me soon. I am asking that no nurses or doctors dare say anything to Henry until I get a chance to speak to him and prepare him. He is making such progress. I just do not want him to revert back to the state he was in when he first arrived at Glenview. I hope you and the others will understand my concerns.”

“Yes, of course, Ms. Helen, I will not utter a word. I will ask the other nurses that see your husband to not say anything either.”

“Thank you, Nurse Wanda. You’ve been such a blessing to us. You are one of the Nurses that have helped to make this place bearable. If we can ever do anything for you, please do not hesitate to let us know what we can do.” Helen stated as she hugged Nurse Wanda tightly.

“Just get that man of yours well Ms. Helen… the nurses have always believed that if you and Mr. Henry could have stayed together that he probably would have been ready to go home with you!”

“I sure will, again thank you! I had better get myself to my room!”

Chapter 9

Pursuit of Love

When Helen made it back to her room, Amelia was just arriving as well. They both entered the room as Helen became very excited about Henry’s progress.

“Amelia, my sweet baby girl, your Daddy is coming back to us! We have to just keep the doctors and nurses quiet so that they do not tell him anything about my progress and upset him again!”

“But Momma, are you not going to tell Daddy that you are on your way home? What if they discharge you? What if someone slips up and mentions it to him?”

“I will tell him when I feel he is able to handle it. Right now he is doing so well! I just do not want to hinder him in anyway. I am taking him home with me Amelia! I will not leave him in this place, do you understand me?”

“Yes, Mam, I understand. I knew that you weren’t going to leave him, so, Momma tell me what do you need for me to do for you?”

“Just continue to bring your Daddy pictures, bring our wedding pictures to let him see them. Also bring all of the pictures that have that old Oak tree in it. Gather as many as you can to jar as many memories as possible. The journals and the poster you brought him seem to be working better than any treatment Glenview has offered. This is what will bring your Daddy back to us! I am sure of it!”

“I’ll do it Momma! I will go by the house when I leave here today.   Boy you just look so much different yourself Momma, you have such a warm glow about you, what has happened to you?”

“Well, I don’t know if you can handle the truth or not my Dear?” Helen stated rather bluntly.

“Momma, I am not a little child anymore, of course I can handle the truth. What is up?”

Guest 4 What I Would Advise My Younger Self!

I have asked a few of my author friends to be my guest over the past few weeks as they are exceptional friends and Inspirational writers! I hope that you have enjoyed there wonderful post!

The authors I have chosen have several published books or works to their credit or are in process of publishing their own books.

Please enjoy my Guest Authors as they candidly and openly share a glimpse into their lives. It is my hope that you will be inspired to visit their sites and check out their work!

The theme of the guest blogs:

What I Would Advise My Younger Self!

May I introduce you to my friend and a wonderful author:

Dolores Ayotte!

“Advice I Would Give My Younger Self!”

When Christine first approached me about being a guest writer on her blog site I was very honored. She mentioned that she “would like to have several strong women authors to guest blog”. To say the least, the fact that she considered me to be one of these authors meant a great deal to me as I truly admire Christine in much the same light.

“Advice I Would Give My Younger Self!” is a very broad topic and after penning several inspirational books about my efforts to overcome depression, I decided to keep this article on a lighter note. A few weeks ago, my husband and I were blessed with the birth of our tenth grandchild. A lovely grandson, born almost two weeks overdue, entered into our lives. With three little sisters at home and the oldest being only five, of course, we have been called upon to help out just as we have done in the past with all our other grandchildren.

Every time, I have the opportunity to hold a precious grandchild in my arms, I am reminded of the birth of my own children, their mothers. Our first daughter was just over two years old when we were blessed with the unexpected arrival of her twin sisters. Yes…it is true. We had no idea that we were having twins until the day I went into labor. My husband worked full time and was studying to be an Accountant when the miraculous event took place. Needless to say, we were a very busy young married couple with a whole lot of responsibility. With no family nearby to share the load, it was frequently overwhelming and extremely tiring.

Now I see how busy our daughters are with their young families and it reminds me of our earlier years. Every chance I get, I hold these precious grandchildren in my arms and rock them to sleep whenever possible. I hardly had a moment to do this when my children were young because I was so busy just keeping my head above water with all the energy it takes to raise a family and run a household. I wish I would have had more time to just hold my babies. Now I’m making up for it.

Therefore, the “advice I would give my younger self” is to breathe in every special moment while you are raising a family as life flies by so fast. Embrace this special, albeit demanding time, and just cherish your young children. Before you know it, this phase of your life will be over. Now in retirement, I am so blessed to have the time to hold/rock my grandbabies and every time I do I am reminded of God’s generosity and the gift of life. One of the wonderful blessings of having children is being given the opportunity to embrace and cherish new life in the love you have for your grandchildren. I have been blessed with a second chance…

Part 14 If Oak Trees Could Talk

Welcome back to Part 14 of If Oak Trees Could Talk! Wow! When I began to do the video blogs I really wasn’t for sure how to even go about doing them, but I just had it in my heart and mind to do them! This rings true in just about everything that I have ever done in my life….I never knew how to do what I desired but went for it anyway…..and so I hope as I read out of my latest Romance/Suspense Novel If Oak Trees Could Talk that you will be encouraged to do what is in your heart to do!

Disclaimer:

I feel that this book is truly an Inspirational love story, however, in some of the following content, I wanted to state that for some young readers or listeners the content may not be appropriate or may be rated PG.

Today we begin in Chapter 8 Love Has no Age

Chapter 8

Love Has no Age

A gentle tapping at Henry’s door caused him to stir quickly in his bed. He hoped that when the door opened that it would be his Sweet Helen. He could hardly wait to tell her of all that he was discovering about himself. He wanted to share his journals with her and maybe she could help to fill in even more gaps.

Sure enough it was indeed his Helen.

“Good morning, my Darling!” Henry blared before Helen had even stepped completely into his room.

“Shh”….Helen warned, “Well good morning to you as well, Sweetie, but it is not quite morning yet. It’s around midnight.”

“Oh it’s not huh? Are you alright?”

“Yes, Henry, I am fine, just wanted to check on you to say goodnight!”

“What? I must have fallen asleep early…. ha ha….I thought I had been asleep all night long. Boy I sure did get some good rest, some of the best rest I’ve gotten since we’ve been imprisoned in this place!” Henry said with a sheepish grin.

“Well, that‘s terrific!” Helen said as she was thrilled to see Henry in such a pleasant mood. “I am sorry that I woke you now.” Helen continued.

“My dearest Helen, what is wrong?”

“Oh, my, nothing is wrong!” Helen lied. “As a matter of fact things seem to be more right than they’ve been in a long time!”

“So you only come in here in the middle of the night to tell me good night?”

Henry probed? “Listen lady, no one knows you the way that I know you. I know that something is bothering you. Now are you going to tell me what it is?”

“No, nothing is wrong! All is right with the world tonight!” Helen continued to lie, as she came into Henry’s room with the intent to discuss the fact that she had made such great progress in her therapy that Glenview was talking about letting her go home. As she seen the progress and the joy that Henry was making, she refused to dampen his spirit in anyway. Instead, she would speak to the doctors and nurses to warn them not to say anything to Henry until she got a chance to discuss it with him herself.

“I just wanted to kiss you good night honey, and give you a proper good night! Now is there anything wrong with that?” Helen whispered as she had edged closer to Henry’s bedside.

“No, not at all, Dearie, come here and slap a big one on me!” Henry said as he puckered his lips in anticipation of Helen’s kiss with the impatience of an eager teenager.

“Um…. are you sure that is all you want to give me?” Henry said with an ornery smile. “I do miss your touch so much, my sweet little pigtailed, blue eyed darling. I might have misplaced a lot of my memories, but passionately loving one another has never been one of those memories lost…. What do you say? Henry smiled as he scooted over to the edge of the bed, folded the covers back and waited for Helen to lie down beside him.

Helen complied and they loved each other passionately throughout the night until both were satisfied. They embraced each other tightly as they fell into a peaceful sleep. Helen rested in hope as she knew in her heart that Henry was truly coming back to her.   They were sleeping so soundly until they heard an intentionally loud knock at Henry’s door.

“Hello, Mr. Henry, Ms. Helen…..Nurse Wanda said as she once again walked to the window and opened the shade!

The Sun was blindingly beautiful as both Henry and Helen arose to a brand new day and beginning. Henry’s eyes widened and so did the smile on his face when he realized that they were busted. Helen modestly pulled her gown up around her neck and patted Henry’s hand.

“Ms. Helen, I must tell you that your doctors are looking for you this morning. We covered for you, but you might want to hurry and sneak back to your room before they make a second trip to your room and send a posse.” Nurse Wanda said with a little chuckle.

“Yes, I sure will thank you. Please take care of my Henry!”

“Oh, I’ll take good care of Mr. Romeo, for sure Ms. Helen!” Nurse Wanda teased.

“I’ll be back to see you after a while okay, honey?” Helen said to Henry as she kissed him once again.

Henry grabbed her shoulders and planted a hard wet kiss right on her lips as he totally ignored the fact that Nurse Wanda was present in the room.

“Okay, baby until I see you again!” Henry said as once again that sheepish grin curled his lips into a full fledge smile.

Thank you once again for spending this time with me.   I hope that you are able to read or “tune in each week, however if you’ve missed any of the story, please check out my blog archives or my Youtube Video Blogs of If Oak Trees Could Talk!

Please keep the comments coming! I’ve so enjoyed and appreciated them.   I hope that you will continue to read along or “tune in” each week to If Oak Trees Could Talk.
