Powerhouse of Health Benefits!

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is full of nutrients and enzymes and probiotics because of the process by which it undergoes fermentation not pasteurization. Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is made out of organically grown apples and because of this the vinegar is full of benefits. Raw Organic Apply Cider Vinegar when held to the light contains “Mother” which settles to the bottom of the jar. The mother in vinegar is packed full of nutrients and bacteria which is what makes it so healthy for us!

Many leading experts in Nutrition state that using (RACV) on a regular basis has such excellent benefits that many of the over the counter and prescription drugs for common ailments could possibly be reduced or replaced by using the (RACV) in various remedies. Below is a list of a few of the reasons to make Raw Apple Cider Vinegar a regular part of your diet!

  • Aids in losing weight. Studies show that (RACV) helps to break down fats so that the body can use them instead of store them. (RACV) also has acetic acid which has been shown to improve your metabolism.
  • Aids also in skin conditions when used instead of harsh astringents because it is antibacterial. Dilute with water and cleanse skin for acne and eczema being careful not to get into eyes. Some people are very sensitive so suggestions are to try this on the back of your hand before placing on face or other irritated skin.
  • Aids in conditioning the hair! Use (RACV) with a few drops of your favorite Essential oil after shampooing helps give your hair a wonderful and healthy shine.   Studies show that Apple Cider Vinegar can also aid in getting rid of lice and fleas.
  • Studies have proven (RACV) to help lower blood sugar levels when added regularly to the diet. If taken before meals around two tablespoons of (RACV) and water has been found effective in lowering blood sugar level. It is highly recommended as a natural part of the diet to help Diabetics.
  • Aids in alleviating acid reflux and heartburn by adding 1 tablespoon of (RACV) to 4 ounces of Purified water and drinking after meals.

As you can see the benefits of using Raw Apple Cider Vinegar are wonderful and I have only touched on a few. One of my favorite ways to use Raw Apple Cider Vinegar is as a detox. I like Dr. Axe’s Secret Detox recipe! I actually found this detox recipe to also be useful in the relief of my allergies and cold symptoms!

Beginning 2016 garden

Spring is arriving beautifully in the South and I’m itching to get outside! As a kid I remember so well the days warming up after a long cold snowy winter! I am originally from a tiny town in Kentucky that set on the Ohio River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. When spring came, we couldn’t wait to kick our shoes off and go barefoot! After pleading with our Mom, she would finally let us go outside with our bare feet! I remember the sensation of stepping into the lush green prickly cool grass and dirt! What a wonderful experience!

It amazes me that something that gave us so much pleasure as a child now has been found to have been good for us all along, regardless of the many arguments that “we would catch our death of cold!” We obviously never knew about the great benefits!   According to some emerging research from various health professionals going barefoot termed Earthing or Grounding is actually a healthy practice and could have many benefits such as the following:

Reducing inflammation by defusing excess positive electrons

Reducing chronic pain

Improving Sleep (I can vouch strongly for this!)

Increasing Energy (I noticed this also)

Lowering stress and promoting calmness by reducing stress hormones.

Normalizing biological rhythms including circadian rhythm

Improving blood pressure and blood flow

Relieving muscle tension and headache (I noticed this)

Lessens menstrual and female hormone symptoms

Speeds healing- used in some places to prevent bed sores

Can eliminate jet lag

Protecting the body from EMFs

Shortens recovery time from injury or athletic activity

Reducing or eliminating snoring

Helping support adrenal health

In the light of dirt and the earth being found to have relative health benefits,   I wanted to pass this wonderful cutting edge resource from Dr. Joshua Axe entitled Eat Dirt!  along to all who may be suffering in their health!   I have found many helpful resources written or produced by Dr. Axe and have taken his advice to help with health issues for my own family.

Stressed? Blame it on Adam and Eve!

Stressed? Blame it on Adam and Eve!

In my last post entitled “Inner Peace”   I touched on stress a little bit, but I wanted to delve in just a little deeper as to why many times we become stressful!   Face it fellow human beings…. We are not in the Garden anymore!  When God created Man and Woman he placed them in a pristine Garden filled with all that they needed to be satisfied and sustained in life.  They never had to work by the” sweat of their brawl.”  They never stressed over what they were going to eat, wear, or where they were going to sleep!

Stress came in with Adam and Eve in the Garden, when they had all that they could possibly need, but was tempted when Eve lusted after something else!   Yes,  it was a wonderful, perfect stress free environment….So what the heck happened anyway?

Genesis 2:17(KJV) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die

We have a drive to always want more, especially in the society that we now live in!  Don’t get me wrong,  I believe that God wants us to have nice things as a blessing that adds something to our lives without sorrow or regret!

Proverbs 10:22 (KJV) The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it

But all too often we drive ourselves crazy wanting more and more things.  With more things, comes more responsibility to take care of our things and so a vicious stressful cycle has begun!    Regardless of what kind of stress we face, God does not want us to be fretful and worried, plainly stated stressful- full of stress, He wants us to live a stress free life!

Many of us have to actually learn how to stress-down!  We need to create opportunities or take advantage of the knowledge that is available to us!   I wanted to share some suggested techniques that  I found  written by Dr. Joshua Axe on his site on www. draxe.com

Below is a list of suggested ways to deal with stress!

1.Spiritual Triathlon. This is my personal method for keeping my focus throughout the day. Every morning when I wake up I spend 5 minutes saying all that I am grateful for, 5 minutes in prayer and 5 minutes reading my Bible or something inspirational.

2.Schedule relaxation. Write it down in your planner and stick to it. Make time at least once a week to do something you love–something that refreshes you. Maybe that’s a game of tennis, spending an hour alone with a good book or taking a yoga class.

3.Pour yourself a cup. Many varieties of hot tea have calming effects on the body and can help lower blood pressure. Try green or black tea or herbal teas with chamomile.

4.Take a deep breath. Try deep breathing for a few minutes every day. Tighten and release muscles. Hum to release nitric oxide and improve blood pressure.

5.Just say “No.” I promise it’s ok! Don’t spread yourself too thin or you won’t be able to give 100% of your efforts to any of the tasks you attempt. Your value does not depend upon how much you do for others at the expense of your own time, relationships and health.

6.Expel excess adrenaline. Before, during and after stressful situations, walk briskly for 5 minutes, run up a flight of stairs, do backward pushups on your chair, or do 5 minutes of deep breathing. A short burst of physical activity can expel anxiety and give you clarity and calm.

7.Ask yourself why. The next time you’re racing around trying to accomplish too many things in too short a time, ask yourself why you’re doing it, who it really serves, what belief it’s based on, whether this feeling is really what you want, whether this is a value or principle you want to base your life on. “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.” ~Corrie Ten Boom

8.Nix the caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Don’t add to nervous energy with stimulants and don’t mask stress with alcohol. The long-term effects compound the negative effects of stress.

9.Exercise regularly. Regular exercise helps expel built-up tension, stress hormones and clears the mind. Exercise helps to release endorphins, the brain’s natural feel-good chemicals. I recommend Burst Training for the most health benefits.

10.Sleep. Staying up late to get more done robs you of your total productivity. It dulls your mind, increases stress, promotes weight gain and contributes to mood swings.

11.Use your senses. Find colors that soothe you, wear fabrics that please you. Take a scented bath, play music you love. Paint, get a massage, or take a walk in the woods. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.” ~Hilary Cooper

12.Connect with others. Making time for social connection is very important and restorative. Social connection is what makes us a part of something larger than ourselves and our worries. It gives us perspective.

13.Serve someone else. Related to connecting with others, try volunteering at a soup kitchen, making meals for parents with a newborn baby or helping with home repairs for an elderly neighbor. Remind yourself that it’s not always all about you. “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” ~Wayne Dwyer

14.Be prepared. You can combat alarmist or catastrophic thinking by being prepared. Keep a change of clothes in the car, create an emergency fund for car repairs, have an alternative proposal in mind at work.

16.Share responsibility. Delegating really is an important skill. Instead of complaining about how much you have to accomplish, teach your kids to cook, share the credit with a co-worker, or work out sports shuttling with another parent.

I hope that you take advantage of some of these suggestions and live a happier, healthier life!  I would love to hear from you if this article has helped you.  Until next time have a blessed week!

Pathway of Healing!

Pathway of Healing! Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)For I will restore health unto thee, and heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord

Trying new things are usually always exciting, but not often easy.  Many times we would rather stay in a comfort zone or routine where we are not really happy rather than try something different!  This week I am beginning  an 8 week course that is challenging me to think differently about nutrition and about lifestyle in general.  As a wife of thirty-five years and a mother of two, I have become very aware of the need to make drastic lifestyle changes.  I am a firm believer in complete healing, spirit, soul, and body!

Most people make changes by choice.   However, sometimes circumstances force us to make changes and choices that we were not prepared to make. For instance, just because we know to eat healthy and to exercise etc. doesn’t mean that we do or will.  However, when symptoms of sickness began showing up in the body, it suddenly becomes an alarm to seek change and hopefully make healthier lifestyle changes. I know that this blog is rather lengthy, but I am writing to sound an alarm so that maybe you the reader can make a choice for change, rather than have sickness and disease make the choice for you.  I am also writing this to share a very personal story that has had my family seeking new and better ways to live.  Life should not be drudgery, but rather a joy.  However, when sickness tries to dominate a member of the family it is a battle every day to fight for a life of joy!

One day in December 2007, my husband went outside to work on a truck of his that had something wrong with it.  As he had done many times before, he climbed underneath it.  However, this was a day that would change our lives forever.  As he lay beneath the truck, he felt something very strange like gushing water race through his body and hit his lungs!  It was all he could do to crawl out from beneath the truck and get into our home.  This day sent our family into a tailspin!  He of course immediately made a doctor’s appointment and was treated for Bronchitis’s.  He was given inhalers, and antibiotics that seemed to help.  But as soon as the antibiotics were gone, he was right back to where he was, if not worse. After that day, he could not take a deep breath into his lungs.  His oxygen count remained really low, especially when he would try to do anything physically. He became very weak and frail. We then embarked on a long journey of seeking a doctor that could find out what was wrong with him.

A long story shortened, we visited many specialists, many of which immediately through labels like COPD, or Obesity.  They placed him on oxygen and sent him home to die. One rude specialist basically told my husband that all of his symptoms was a result of being “Fat!” When my husband went back to see him for a checkup, he literally said “Oh, I am really surprised that you are still alive!”   Don’t get me wrong, my husband was obese, he knew this, but he had always been heavy.  Yes we knew that weight was an issue, but not the issue. My husband proceeded to lose fifty plus pounds and felt better but not well! In 2012 my husband was placed in ICU.  He had a battery of doctors to see him, and we honestly met a sweet and compassionate lung specialist that my husband still goes to.   However, when my husband goes for his checkups, the lung specialist listens to his lungs and has said, “It’s crazy, your lungs sound as good as mine!”  But still his oxygen count would drop every time he tried to move!

We finally went to a Holistic Naturopath at the recommendation of several friends we knew. She did a number of tests on my husband and found out that he had several food allergies!  Also that he was very toxic.  He had worked in a shoe factory for several years around many chemicals, and then went on to become a diesel mechanic where he not only handled diesel fuel on a daily basis, but also used chemicals in the parts washers etc.  So it made sense that it could be something to do with toxins, or allergies.  She began a detox regiment and advised him on what foods to avoid.  Immediately he seemed to improve, but still struggled with his oxygen count dropping.

Finally we have gone to an allergy doctor that also done a battery of allergy test to find out that my husband is allergic to many environmental things such as trees, pollens, molds, grasses, etc…Really things that you can’t change.  He is proceeding at the recommendation of the allergists to take allergy shots, which again has helped, but has not taken care of the issue of his oxygen dropping. Well I know that I wrote a very long story to simply get to this short point!  We are seeking answers that we know are out there for us. Many years of trying various things to find healing has gained us a lot of knowledge in natural approaches to healing and wellness.

As we learned to do certain things, we have implemented them to the best of our ability, to cause our whole family to be healthy.  We feel as though we have gained much wisdom and great strides.  We’ve learned that the body is a wonderful creation that God placed our spirits into.  We’ve also learned that given the right nutrient dense, natural and raw foods will cause many issues that occur in the body to be taken care of naturally which really gives us power!  Finally we have learned that as God has helped us time and time again in our pathway to healing, He has given us a desire and a compassion to help others along the way!

We’ve all got a Story!

I am writing this blog today because I truly hope to help someone who is living with someone that

is facing or has faced an undiagnosed illnesses.  This road is not an easy road, but thanks be to GOD we are finally seeing the light at the end of a long, long

tunnel, knowing that according to the Bible that “Healing is the children’s bread.”  We will see complete healing, but hopefully on this journey that my husband and

I have had to walk,  we can help others by encouraging them to never give up hope.    According to Psalms 107: He sent his word and healed and delivered from every destruction.  So no matter what it looks like, my husband and I have complete faith that he will indeed be whole and well again.

I wanted to share very briefly our story although it is a story that spans 6 longs years as I am writing this……..

My husband got up one December morning in 2007and our lives were forever changed.  He was having trouble with one of our vehicles so he being a Jack of all trades was going to fix it.  He crawled underneath his Ford F-150 only to suddenly be overwhelmed by a sensation in his body that he could only  describe as feeling like he was drowning from the inside.  He explained to me and many doctors that it felt as though water rushed through  from his feet and went all  through his body and literally hit his lungs.   He was barely able to crawl out from underneath the truck because he couldn’t take a deep breathe.  We live in a home that has steps at every door, so he attempted to come up the stairs into the  house and could not hardly take more than a step or two that he would have to stop and try to breathe.

What happened on that day sent us into a tale spin searching frantically for help.  We are indeed Christians and no we hadn’t sinned….but we know that bad things happen to good people all the time!  We of course began to pray and seek GOD for healing and used wisdom as my husband’s symptom’s grew worse.  We sought out a number of doctors which included many specialist, to only be crushed when they would shake their heads and automatically try to treat him for diseases that they had not proved he even had such as COPD or Asthma.  Don’t get me wrong, I thank GOD for doctors, at one point last year when my husband was placed in ICU, I was never so appreciative of the doctors and nurses who helped take care of him, but still when he came out of the hospital there was still no definite answers after 10 days of rigorously being tested as to what is really going on.

Long story short or shortened, it was suggested to us many times about going more to an Holistic approach. You’ve got to know my husband….He is a good old boy, a Redneck some may call him…He is all man, No foo foo stuff for him, but when disease is robbing you of time with your family and living in general, you will do whatever you can,to find help. No we are not weirdo’s, we are desperate for answers and needed someone to help us until the full manifestation of my husband’s healing manifest.   Maybe those of you who do not believe that GOD still heals today may judge us as being crazy and weird, but honestly, your opinion has very little baring on how we believe.  Until you walk our road and our journey, you really have no clue and I as a Christian pray that you would never have to face what we have had to walk through.  I am not debating with those who do not believe that GOD heals, I am searching out GOD’s healing in whatever form He choses for it to happen.  Doctors are not GOD they do not heal, they treat symptoms, my husband and I know that ultimately GOD is the healer.

Anyway, we took the advice of so many who had suggested that we go to a Naturopath and Holistic approach.  Our decision to go and have my husband tested proved to be a right decision.  We found out that there were several issues with his body and immediately the Naturopath began treating him with natural Essential Oils and Detoxing supplements to help flush out the toxins in his lungs and throughout his body.  As crazy as it may sound, immediately my husband began getting relief.  His Oxygen saturation levels which stayed entirely too low has began coming back up in the 90’s where they should be and daily we can see an improvement with his strength and energy levels coming back.

I said all of this so that those who read this would understand, that I am not just trying to sell Essential Oils and other products, but I am passionate about pointing others to something that is so pure and simple.  GOD placed Adam and Eve in the garden and told them to simply live off the land.  Why do we think that we can live off of processed foods and work in toxins and pollutants everyday and think that our bodies may not be affected somehow?  I am not speaking sickness or disease over anybody, as a matter of truth, I personally declare the word of GOD over you in Isaiah that states: By Jesus’ stripes you are healed!

I am, however, simply sharing that 100% Essential Oils can possibly be something that one can use as natural preventive tools to help ward sickness and disease off before they occur.  If this resonates with you in anyway, please check out my webpage’s link  http://www.mydoterra.com/covenantessentials/ which contains information on how you or somebody you know may obtain the natural products that may be able to help them as they have my husband.  Not only have they helped my husband, but I now use them for my whole family especially through allergy seasons etc… If you are walking through some kind of sickness, I encourage you to always trust GOD first, let him lead you down the pathway of healing for you.  I’ve seen the healing power of GOD and have experienced in my own body, so I know he is our healer however he chooses to manifest it in our bodies.
